Position Title: User Experience (UX) Researcher

Brief Description:

We are looking for a UX Researcher with the ability to create, organize, and fully execute usability tests/research, perform data analysis, and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. This individual will also have the ability to design quick concepts, layouts, and wireframes using professional design software.

Job Description

  • Independently design, run/moderate and analyze usability studies, both online and in-person
  • Design, run and analyze concept validation studies with a sample of users
  • Research consumer behaviors and expectations
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations of findings and recommendations for improvements to stakeholders at all levels
  • Translate UX recommendations and data-driven decisions for feature/function concepts into visual designs such as wireframes and prototypes
  • Create branded wireframes, user flows, low-fidelity prototypes
  • Negotiate requirements and designs with product managers, designers, and developers
  • Research includes: one on one usability testing, contextual inquiry research, focus groups, card sorts/tree testing (information architecture), and surveys

Requirements/Desired Skills/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in human computer interaction, human factors, or cognitive/experimental psychology (or related field of study)
  • Proficiency in design-related software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc).
  • At least 3-5 years of post-academic relevant research and design experience.

 

Candidate will have demonstrated the ability to:

  • Independently design, set-up, run and analyze usability studies
  • Plan and conduct usability testing, both in-person and online
  • Research, write and negotiate user/service requirements
  • Apply UX principles to design experiments, scale methodologies, moderate usability testing, and perform basic statistical analysis
  • Clearly and succinctly document study results
  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations of findings and recommendations for improvement
  • Produce design concepts (e.g., wireframes) using professional design tools to rapidly work through ideation
  • A personal interest in current developments in mobile and web-based applications

Education:

Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in human computer interaction, human factors, or cognitive/experimental psychology.

Candidates selected for interview will be asked to provide samples of presentations/study reports, and design portfolio.
