ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Electrical design engineers perform the following work: design work for electrical and power systems, shop drawing review, design support during construction including inspection of newly installed electrical and power systems, machinery and apparatus, and other related work.

Level A

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work independently on all conventional aspects of electrical engineering. A practical knowledge of railroad signal or communications systems is desirable.
  • The ability to write clearly, organize project information, prepare daily reports, process progress payments and additional work orders. Interacts and communicates with contractors.

Level B

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience
  • The ability to use advanced techniques and extend the theories and precepts of electrical engineering to novel or unusual circumstances. Applies sound and diversified knowledge. Makes independent judgments on engineering problems and methods. Requires supervisory guidance only on general objectives and unusual problems and developments. A practical knowledge of railroad signal or communications systems is desirable.
  • The ability to write clearly, organize project information, prepare daily reports, process progress payments and additional work orders. Interacts and communicates with contractors.

Level C

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience
  • The ability to use advanced techniques and extend the theories and precepts of electrical engineering to novel or unusual circumstances. Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial problems: with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. A practical knowledge of railroad signal or communications systems is desirable.

The ability to write clearly, communicate and organize project information, prepare daily reports, process progress payments and additional work orders. Interaction with contractors.
