Required skills:
- A valid Professional Engineer’s License is required.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and at least six (6) years of related practical experience in the engineering field including at least two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience. A satisfactory combination of education and experience may be considered for candidates who possess the required license.
Desired skills:
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in electrical, electromechanical engineering. In-depth knowledge of any of the specific engineering areas listed above, including guidelines, specifications and standards of performance related to the duties of these positions. Also, knowledge of Capital Construction procedures and field operations, knowledge of mass transit operations and practices and in-depth knowledge of mass transit facilities.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills and knowledge of construction scheduling and estimating.
- Knowledge of: NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, UL, ISA and IEC codes and standards is preferred.
- Experience with CADD systems is preferred.
Description of work:
- Responsible for managing a variety of electrical engineering work that may include design and/or construction support in the following areas: Instrumentation and Control, including but not limited to PLC’s Distributed Control Systems, Computerized Control Systems, Control Wiring, Process Control, Building Control Systems, Instrumentalism, electro-mechanical relaying, preparation and review of ladder diagrams, interconnection diagrams, CWD’s (Control Wiring Diagrams) SCADA systems, I/O servers and operating systems. Such work will essentially be related to large (greater than $10 Million) or several smaller constructions projects or design or several projects or for managing a small unit specializing in the above engineering areas.
- Project Engineers work with clients, Construction Managers (CMs) and Design Managers (DMs) to ensure practices conform with standards and guidelines. Project Engineers work with other staff to incorporate feedback and revisions to standards and guidelines.
- Take action to ensure performance of assigned staff.
- Report on ongoing performance. Prepare and deliver presentations, conduct analysis and make recommendations on project alternatives.
