Required skills:
- A valid Professional Engineer’s License is required.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering, and at least six (6) years of related practical experience in the engineering field including at least two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience. A satisfactory combination of education and experience may be considered for candidates who possess the required license.
- Expertise and working knowledge in the design and deployment of all noted communications systems (below) is required.
- Design experience and first-hand knowledge of implementation and practical construction methods of various communication systems, particularly where integration with other systems is involved.
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of various communication systems: Help Points, CCTV, Access-Control, Intercom, data networking, fiber optic, structured cabling systems, DC power plants.
- Knowledge of capital construction procedures and field operations.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling and estimating
- Knowledge of mass-transit operations and mass-transit facilities
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Description of work:
- Under the day-to-day supervision of a Construction Manager (CM) and under the technical oversight of a Principal Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for the construction administration of various communication contracts. Topical contracts include: Help Points, CCTV, track intrusion detection, access-control, intercom, data networking, fiber optic, structured cabling systems, DC power plant, and mechanical HVAC systems.
- The Project Engineer will manage resident engineers and interface with contractors, project schedulers and estimators, design discipline engineers/architects.
- The Project Engineer will organize the day-to-day operations of a construction field office. Identify and specify the identification of system interfaces
- The Project Engineer will also manage and administer Labor resources as well as the AWO process.
